Abstract

The essay presents a collection of images created as part of the Monument to the Future project, initiated in 2018. The project reflects on the memory of the Blue Angel statue, which was fragmented and abandoned in a public square for nearly a decade. Actions undertaken included petitions to IPHAN, visual interventions, and records reimagining the sculpture as a symbol of cultural resistance. The ruin evoked issues such as the right to the city, violence, and the role of monuments in public space.

Artista visual e pesquisadora, atualmente é professora do Departamento de
Artes Visuais da UFPB. Tem atuado na área de Teoria e Crítica de Arte com ênfase nos processos de criação e modos de (des)disciplinar pesquisas. É mestra em Pesquisa em Arte e Criação pela Universidade Complutense de Madri (2013) e Doutora em Belas Artes pela mesma instituição (2017). Sua tese El Artista Errante y el Discurso como Cartografía en un Contexto Hispano-Brasileño investiga as práticas artísticas contemporâneas de ethos errante. Seu trabalho artístico toca questões de memória, ficção e poéticas do espaço.
