Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the impact of confinement on performances in Physical Fitness Assessment Tests (PFAT) conducted in 2020 and 2021, a period during which there was sanitary isolation due to Covid-19. The specific objectives were to compare the absolute values and grades of the flexion, abdominal, and running activities, as well as the differences in the final grades. Initially, descriptive statistical analyses were conducted to compare the activities performed before and after the confinement period, respectively. The Shapiro-Wilk test was applied to check the normality of the data of the differences in the final grades of the tests, and the paired t-test was applied shortly thereafter. The results indicated a statistically significant difference in the final grades, indicating a performance reduction in the physical tests. The results obtained are in agreement with the studies  Schipman et al. (2022) and  Radziminski et al. (2021), which also concluded that there was a significant reduction in performance of athletes after the isolation period.
