    Possui graduação em Letras, mestrado e doutorado em Estudos Linguísticos pela Universidade Federal Fluminense. Atualmente é professora adjunta de Linguística no Departamento de Ciências da Linguagem da Universidade Federal Fluminense. É vice-líder do grupo de pesquisa Semiótica e Discurso (SEDi), investigando textos veiculados no espaço cibercultural. Seu tema de interesse principal é a mídia popular nas suas múltiplas manifestações.
