Ayahuasca is a drink of indigenous origin, based on a tradition transmitted orally since time immemorial. Assembled based on the ritual/religious use of the drink, ayahuasca communities have practices and territorialities based on ancestry, spirituality and/or religiosity, in addition to a relationship of belonging and harmony with Nature. These communities have their fundamental cultural and territorial rights guaranteed through national and international standards, as these are one of the assumptions of their forms of reproduction. In this sense, we present a bibliographical review, with a theoretical-epistemological approach to intercultural dialogue to detail and problematize the practices and territorialities of these communities, highlighting the inseparability of culture from the territory and discussing its legal protection.
