This article aims to understand the right to the city from a gender perspective, investigating women's interactions with the urban environment. Through historical contextualization, it explores the evolution of women's rights to occupy public spaces and the impact of gender dynamics on urban access. The research is based on a literature review and the collection of data relevant to women's experiences in urban spaces, with the aim of highlighting that, despite significant advances in the fight for gender equality, there is still a need for a (re)planning and (re)conception of cities that incorporate the needs and perspectives of women in all spheres of public, social, and economic decision-making. This study seeks to contribute to the construction of more inclusive and equitable cities, emphasizing the importance of active female participation in urban planning.
