Abstract

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the municipal public school system in Angra dos Reis, RJ, focusing on the conditions and situations of teaching work with a potential impact on the health of its teachers. It is justified by the necessary discussion of the relationship between work and the health of teachers in the school environment. To this end, the category of “teacher malaise” (Esteve, 1999) and its main and secondary factors included in qualitative bibliographic research, in addition to data from the School Census (INEP, 2024) and the Teacher Survey, which consists of an online form applied by LIEPE in partnership with SEPE/RJ and Sinpro-Rio, voluntarily answered by teachers in the municipal network. The preliminary conclusion is that teacher malaise is manifested in the school system as a result of the structural and contextual conditions of teachers' work.
