Abstract

This essay brings together nine photographs taken between 2016 and 2023, across different spatial contexts – the United States, Brazil, and India. Through photography and textual reflections, it proposes a sensitive analysis of the relationships between society and space, highlighting contrasts and invisible layers that shape the observed realities. Inspired by the ethical and political commitment of geography, the essay incorporates a critical perspective as an investigative tool, aiming to broaden the understanding of spatial phenomena and their social implications.The images, captured during daily life and travels, engage with theoretical approaches and subjective perceptions, enriched by interactions with local inhabitants. The sense of hearing is also invited to enhance the experience, with a musical suggestion that inspired the title of the work, evoking themes of hope, justice, and human connection. Thus, this essay seeks not only to observe but also to provoke critical reflections on the spaces we inhabit and how we experience them.
