YOUTH AND MILITARY DICTATORSHIP IN THE ARQUIVO DE MEMÓRIA OPERÁRIA DO RIO DE JANEIRO (AMORJ)

The past is a field in dispute. In view of this, we highlight the political dimension of archives and centers of historical documentation that both house the memory of those who have not been reconciled with power and hegemonic discourse. It is no different with the Arquivo de Memória Operária do Rio de Janeiro, a research and documentation center whose collection contains more than 80 funds on unions, social movements and political parties. Following the proposed approach in this text, we highlight collections and documents related to the themes “youth” and “military dictatorship” combined. The struggles of the present and the hopes of the future cannot do without these memories.
