Extension action about diabetes mellitus with community health agents in Pratica a Mente Project

The aim of this report is to present one of the actions developed in a dynamic way by the Pratica a Mente university extension project to work on diabetes mellitus with the community health agents (CHAs) of the Nossa Senhora das Graças Basic Health Unit, in Itajaí (SC). The aim was to answer questions on the subject and share knowledge that the CHAs could put into practice in their daily work. We opted to carry out an interactive action between students with scholarship grants on the project, teachers and CHAs. Through searches in scientific materials and instructions from the project's teachers, we developed a “Health Bingo”. At the end of the event, we received positive feedback from the CHAs invited, who said that the event added a lot to their professional and personal lives. Bearing in mind the importance of the theme covered in the action, as well as the way it was applied, it being dynamic, with everyone present being able to participate and contribute, we conclude that moments of interaction are very important for maintaining the link between the University and the community.
