Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phases and dimensions of digital transformation, as well as the development of organizational capabilities and innovation, in four small companies in the footwear sector in the Rio dos Sinos Valley/RS, Brazil. A qualitative methodology was adopted (interviews, observation, and document analysis) with a multiple case study approach. The results demonstrate that technology alone is insufficient. DT requires a strategic review of the business model, strategic adaptation, and the delivery of value recognized by the organization and the market. The research contributes by mapping DT strategies in small businesses, offering managerial benchmarks for the effective allocation of resources.
